Why check
To act for you, Muse remembers a lot. TIME reported on October 6 that Muse keeps an evolving dossier on each user and builds pages for contacts who don’t use the app (WIRED reported similarly); Meta didn’t dispute it.
Turn off AI training
- Settings → Data controls
- Turn off Help improve our AI models
- Tap Turn off to confirm
View, edit or delete memory
- Tap the Assistant icon → Identity → Memory
- Edit or delete entries in the Memory.md file
- Or ask Muse what it remembers, and tell it to forget a topic
Delete chats
- Side chat: Chats tab → select it → three-dot menu → Delete
- Single message: press and hold → Delete
- The main thread can only be cleared with a reset
Reset Muse
- Settings → Data Controls → Reset Muse
- Follow the steps and tap Reset
This permanently deletes chats, files and active tasks and can’t be undone.
Disconnect what you don’t use
Disconnect connectors you don’t need, and ask Muse what it got from each one. Information already saved to memory may remain, so check Memory afterwards.
Leaving for good
Deleting your Meta account in Accounts Center removes your Muse data too.
